On the Road

We headed out on our new adventure August 21st after the wedding of our good friends.  My cousin married Nate's old roommate (and yes we did help to introduce them ;).  The wedding was a lot of fun and we will miss our Wackee Six partners. Three days later we made it to Texas.

Day one we saw a lot this:

We spent the night in Monticello and other than the temple there was literally nothing there. Nate told me he had never played Mad Libs so I said that we should buy some at the store when we go to Monticello so that we could entertain ourselves the next day.  He tried to explain to me that there wouldn't be any stores in Monticello.  I didn't believe him and said there must be something.  Yeah there was nothing.  But we did enjoy seeing the temple.  The drive through Southern Utah was by far the prettiest part of the trip.  I am already planning our vacation to Moab.

Day two we saw a lot of this:

We passed through a lot of heavy rain. Luckily Nate was driving for that part!

Day three...well that part was in Western Texas and there really wasn't much to take a picture of there. A lot of small towns with nothing in them. But we did see something fun when we stopped to get gas:

If you can't read the trailer it says "Bread of Life Mobile Ministry". Church on the go.

Anyways, we are in College Station now. A lot more has happened that I will have to write about one day. We were promised wireless internet in our apartment but so far the signal doesn't reach us, so we are sitting by the pool right now to get the signal better. Sitting by the pool in August at 10:00 at night in Texas isn't bad, but if it was noon we would be roasting.

  1. Welcome to Texas! It will be fun to have you here. Allison and I got together for lunch yesterday. Calvin was so funny ...he loves his chocolate gelato!!! I'm sure you are quickly realizing that the Texas A&M folks are pretty much fanatics. We went to a wedding reception once where the bride & groom and the grooms parents cleard the floor so they coud sing and jump around to their fight song. It was crazy!
